I had to stop and think about that, myself, but ultimately I figured it is so over the top that it’s almost – almost – funny. I would have no trouble reading it as parody if that’s what I’d been told it would be.
There’s a Google cache, naturally. He took the post down after he took too much heat for it. So much for the courage of his convictions. If he wants to get up and say he hates me, fine – I get to get up and say I think he’s an asshole. It’s not polite, but at least it’s honest on both our parts. It’s much less polite to try to edit his own statements out of history, but apparently he does this to comments all the time, so maybe he doesn’t really see a bright line there.
At any rate, what I found most amusing is that he took the post down after someone quoted the official doctrine of the InquisitionCongregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which is that the queer community is to be treated respectfully and that basic human dignity always has to be respected. I guess this is a tacit admission that he utterly failed to respect basic human dignity? I dunno.
